Carlos Alberto Valderrama Becerra

Mr. Valderrama joined the ICAC in 1988 as a demand economist, and since 1998 has been the head economist. He is in charge of economic research at ICAC. He designed a number of econometric models used by ICAC and other international agencies to provide projections of prices, demand, and supply in the cotton and textile markets. Mr. Valderrama is the author of World Textile Demand, an annual publication of ICAC.

Mr. Valderrama is an economist from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, an M.A. in Applied Economics from the American University in Washington D.C. and a Ph.D.C. in Economics from the New School for Social Research in New York.
